The February 2009 issue of The Lancet Oncology reports that a breast cancer patient´s risk of recurrence increases considerably with the use of Tibolone, a synthetic steroid used in preventing osteoporosis and treating menopausal symptoms. As a result, breast cancer survivors and current breast cancer patients should not be givenTibolone.In August, 2008, The New England Journal of Medicine reported that Tibolone increases the risk of stroke in older women.
