There was a truck accident on I-70 near Claysville today – August 22, 2008 – that injured three people. The State Police reported that a truck was traveling westbound on I-70 when it lost control and crashed into cars traveling east on I-70. The tractor-trailer was hauling plastic bottles. Pennsylvania State Police reported that three people were injured. The truck driver was sent in an amubulance to Washington Hospital. The driver, Steve Frase, of Ohio, was flown by medical helicopter to UPMC Presbyterian in Pittsburgh and his passenger, Tom Grossenbacher, 61, was also taken to a hospital for medical treatment.In May, 2007 another truck accident occurred on I-70 near Claysville. In that crash, a tractor trailer collided with a car. The truck driver, Frank Curtis, was killed. The driver of the car, David Shafer, was from Anandale, Virginia.
